Distributing the PDF version of the article may cause the file name to change. To change the file name, users need to be notified of the URL of the new file again, otherwise they will still read the old PDF or have a broken link error. Using WordPress to permanently link to PDF will help users get the latest information, no matter how the PDF file name changes.
BSK PDF Manager has the feature of enable permalink and it can help you do PDF permalink easily.
What you need to do is just check the "Enable permalink" checkbox on "Permalinks" tab on BSK PDF Manager's setting page.
URL structure base
Our plugin uses the value for URL structure base to recognize PDF from a permalink so it is better to make it unique in your WordPress.
PDF slug
After permalink enabled, our plugin will generate slugs for all your existing PDFs by title automatically. All links to PDF in your WordPress will be changed to permalink automatically. If you website has a Cache, it needs to clear cache to make all pages / posts display new permalink URL instead file name URL.

There is Edit button in the permalink area when edit a PDF, click it will let you change the slug in input text.
